Did you know that there are regulations, directives and conventions that regulate your rights as a consumer while buying goods and services from other EU countries?

EU regulations are binding to the Member States, including Estonia and apply equally to all Member States. EU regulationsare not rewritten into national laws.

Directives must be harmonized into  the national laws of Member States. The directives lay down what minimum rules apply for the Member States, although each country may establish a higher level of protection in its national law.

Conventions apply in the countries that have joined the relevant legislative document.
